The design and development of plastic parts involves the creation of functional and manufacturable plastic components. This process consists of defining customer requirements, concept, material selection, 3D modelling, prototyping and optimizing the design for manufacturability. The goal is to create a part that meets the specific requirements of the customer and is also efficiently manufactured.
Defining requirements – we clearly outline the intended use, specific requirements and standards that the plastic part must meet.Conceptual design – we create a concept of the part, on which further modifications can be made. We work with drawings, 3D data or samples.Material selection – we select a suitable material based on factors such as strength, flexibility, temperature resistance and chemical compatibility. We also determine the colour of the material and its surface requirements.3D modelling – we develop a detailed digital model of the part using 3D software.Tool production – based on the data, we will produce a tool. We are able to produce tools for prototype production from artificial wood or MDF. For series production, we use cast or milled aluminium.Prototyping – we will create physical prototypes to evaluate the shape, fit and functionality of the design.Design for manufacturability – we will optimize the design so that the part can be manufactured efficiently.Final design refinement – we will make the necessary changes based on the results of prototyping and design analysis for manufacturability to finalize the design.
